Bunny Cakes Make Spring Treats Fun!

Bunny Cakes Make Spring Treats Fun!

on Mar 13, 2018 |

I love fun Spring and Easter themed desserts. The bright colors, fresh flavors, and sweet bunny characters always bring a smile to my daughters’ faces. As you know, I love to play with food. Creating a fun, edible art project has been my “jam” for quite some time now. Hands on learning, crafting, and eating your own design, makes for memorable moments.     Little Debbie has released their Spring treats line and I was quick to grab a few boxes of their Easter Basket Cakes. These are cakes similar to their famous Zebra Cakes line, but adorned with beautiful, pastel colored sprinkles. I purchased Little Debbie’s Easter Basket Cakes, in vanilla flavor, for this particular food craft.     I looked at the shaped of these tasty Little Debbie Easter Basket Cakes and knew that I had to transform them into a bunny’s face. This recipe is very simple and only takes a few extra ingredients to make your Easter treats super cute.     For sweet decorations on pudding cups or cupcakes, make a few extra Bunny cakes and dye some shredded coconut green (for grass)!     Bunny Cakes Ingredients: 1 box of Little Debbie Easter Basket Cakes 1 bag of white candy melts 1 bag of pink candy melts Mini chocolate chips (these are for eyes, so you won’t use that many) 20 mini marshmallows 2 uncooked pieces of spaghetti noodles (for the whiskers) Special Tools: Parchment paper Piping bags with #3 tip or you can just snip of the corner of a plastic baggy If your making grass as decoration, 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut in a recloseable plastic bag 4-6 drops of green gel food coloring Directions: Melt candy melts in separate bowls, according to bag’s directions. Place melted candy melts in 2 different piping bags with #3 tip. On parchment paper, using white candy melts, pipe a slender 2-3″ teardrop shape. You will need 2 of these per bunny face, as these will be the ears. Allow the white shape of the ear to dry (only a couple of minutes). Then, using the melted, pink candy melts proceed to make a smaller slender, teardrop on the inside of the larger white shape. Allow to dry...

This Spring, Transport Your Family To Disney’s Pandora- The World Of Avatar

Wow, just wow! This is one of the MOST amazing lands of the Disney World Theme Parks, my family has EVER visited! My family and I were invited to explore Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, more specifically, the new Pandora-The World Of Avatar.       I grabbed my 2 oldest girls, 11 and 9, and headed out for a day of exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I love going to Walt Disney World and checking out all they have to offer, especially when there is something new to share with you all. I will be completely honest, I haven’t been to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 9 years and A LOT has changed. More recently, Disney has added Pandora-The World Of Avatar. This new land in Animal Kingdom is barely a year old and so popular, that you must plan on using Disney FastPass+ Experience.     The older girls and I were so excited to enter Animal Kingdom, we could barely contain ourselves. Upon entering this beautifully, lush theme park, your family is immediately greeted with an amazing photo opportunity, The Tree Of Life. This tree is spectacular and has really amazing, animal carvings. My daughters and I loved looking at the tree to see how many animals we could spot! Plan on staying through the evening because you don’t want to miss “Tree Of Life Nighttime Awakening”.   An All-New Nighttime Experience Watch in wonder when the animal spirits within the great tree awaken during a mesmerizing showcase of color and light.
